Insurance
We currently accept insurance from two health care providers and therefore are primarily considered an Out-of-Network provider. Reimbursement rates typically range from 50-80% for plans that have Out-of-Network coverage for psychotherapy. We can provide you with a Superbill for you to file for reimbursement with your insurance carrier.
Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. You are responsible for any part of this cost not covered by insurance, such as deductibles, copays, or coinsurance. You may also be responsible for any services not covered by your insurance. Please contact your provider to verify your actual cost for psychotherapy/counseling services. We recommend asking the following questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits.
-
Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
-
What is my deductible and has it been met?
-
How many sessions per year does my plan cover?
-
What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
-
Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?
Assistance Filing your Superbill for Out-of-Network Services
If you do not prefer to file your Superbill on your own, we have partnered with Mentaya to help clients with this process. If eligible, Mentaya will manage your claims for a 5% fee per claim. Mentaya's goal is to save you time and money. It's completely optional, and we do not benefit in any way from your participation.

FAQs
We offer both in-person and online/virtual sessions. Virtual counseling allows you to
have access to your therapist from the comfort of your own home. We use a secure
HIPAA compliant platform to offer counseling. Currently, in-person sessions are limited, so please let us know if you are interested in having in-person sessions. If you have any questions about this process please reach out to us.Periods of stress, anxiety, and sadness are common, but when these feelings persist, intensify, or hinder daily activities, it may be time to consider therapy. Addressing concerns as early as possible is important because it increases the probability of reaching the desired outcome.
In most cases, you do not need a referral to receive services, however, it is a good idea to check with your insurance provider to see if they require a referral for mental health services.
Insurance can be a great way to receive counseling at a lower cost, but it is important to understand what utilizing insurance means for you as the client.
If you use insurance:
·The counselor will have to give you a mental health diagnosis. Many clients do not need a mental health diagnosis when experiencing normal relationship challenges.
·Billing an insurance company requires the counselor to provide details of your work together to the insurance representative so the insurance company can decide if they will continue to pay for your counseling services.
During the initial intake session, the counselor will spend time gathering information from you and find out the goals you have for therapy. Once your goals have been established, the counselor will work with you in subsequent sessions to create a custom treatment plan tailored to meet your specific needs and you will then begin working on those goals.
The length of your session depends on the type of mental health service you are receiving. For most counseling sessions, you will be booked for one “therapy hour” which is typically 50 minutes. This is the actual time you will spend in session with your counselor. The remaining part of that hour is used by the counselor to complete session notes, schedule your next appointment if requested, and prepare for the next session.
The length of time in counseling is unique to each individual’s needs, severity of their condition, and level of commitment to working towards accomplishing their goals. Therapy may take only weeks/few months to help cope with a short-term issue or treatment may last a year or longer for long-term concerns or conditions.
